Кроме того, может проводиться подконтрольная эксплуатация, которая в некоторой степени условно может быть отнесена также к эксплуатационным испытаниям. Подконтрольная эксплуатация представляет собой естественную эксплуатацию, ход и результаты которой наблюдаются персоналом, специально предназначенным и подготовленным для этой цели (дополнительным или штатным) и руководствующимся документацией, разработанной также специально для сбора, учета и первичной обработки информации, источником которой служит подконтрольная эксплуатация.
